Modern Mole Removal Practices
The sight of moles can sometimes be quite unpleasant. It becomes even more disgusting when it is raised, large, or located on the face. Often, anesthesia is administered on the area procedure for the mole removal is to be performed. Local anesthesia will make the skin numb. With this, the procedure can be performed more easily.
Although there will still be some pain felt, it is at a tolerable level. Some physicians prescribe pain killers that you can take. But in the case of laser therapy, no anesthetics are used. You will actually be able to sense the events happening in your surrounding area. You will hear all the things the doctors are talking about. You will be able to see the area being operated on really up close. Though all these events are happening, you will still be awake. There is a certain thrill that can be had from participating in these operations. When it comes to dealing with moles that are flat on the skin, this is the most preferred option.
Laser therapy is also effective in removing moles that have been present since birth. If the moles have never changed in terms of size, color or shape, laser therapy is the most suitable option. It is not effective if the mole you want removed is deeply rooted. If you insist on using this method, you may remove some part of it, but not completely. They can recur in exactly the same spot. You will only end up wasting your time, energy, and money.
The laser treatment seals blood vessels using heat. You might feel some stinging but do not worry because it is nothing you can’t handle. You will have lesser bleeding in this treatment, unlike other methods. Other mole removal methods require some stitching and a long waiting time until it is fully healed. But in laser treatment, no such stitching is required. Wound also heals faster.
Cryotherapy requires the use of cold temperature which, incidentally, can harm your skin. Similarly heat treatment in laser therapy is harmful to the skin cells. It is for this reason that laser light only affects the skin cells on the moles. There will be no adverse effects on the skin around the mole. Doctors recommend laser therapy despite the fact that it is more expensive than mole removal creams or those other natural remedies.
The market is overflowing with various types of mole removal creams. Most of them are chemically tested and FDA approved. You shouldn’t continue using creams if you have allergies to any other their ingredients. Deeply rooted and large moles can’t be removed by creams. They can’t penetrate through the deeper layers of your skin to kill the mole cells. Thus creams are used for the shallow moles.
